Laser Assisted Dental Treatment
Dental diode lasers are yet another tool your modern dentist can use to remove bacteria and harmful proteins from soft tissue around your teeth. Diode lasers work by operating within a wavelength that kills bacteria, interrupts cell signaling yet, doesn’t harm tooth structure or bone. Lasers are most beneficially used around the roots of teeth that display infection and periodontal challenges. However, diode lasers are also used to remove excess gum tissue, clean around crowns and sometimes even remove soft tissue lesions like fibromas. Diode lasers have a distinct benefit in that they can be used almost universally on patients with medical complications such as pacemakers. They can also aid in cleaning around implants, and heal time after use is supported as being more rapid than conventional methods.
